Volunteer Coordinator – FoodCloud Hubs

About FoodCloud Hubs:
FoodCloud Hubs is a social enterprise that has developed a unique solution to connect businesses with bulk surplus food to charities that need this food across Ireland via three redistribution depots in Cork, Galway and Dublin. Our solution provides 30,000 sq ft of storage capacity nationwide, full maintenance of the cold chain through temperature controlled vehicles and storage areas and a customised IT system that ensures full traceability of every product with detailed sustainability reporting.

In 2014 we opened our first depot in Cork to service the Munster region and opened two further depots in Dublin (December 2015) & Galway (January 2016) to cover the Leinster and Connacht regions giving FoodCloud Hubs a full national reach. FoodCloud Hubs work alongside FoodCloud, who offer a retail level solution for surplus food.

To date we have redistributed approximately 1000 tonnes of surplus food from a network of almost 100 registered donors, including Musgrave Group, Tesco, Kelloggs and Carroll’s Meats, to 134 registered charities across the country.

Job Purpose:
The role of the Volunteer Coordinator is to develop and implement a sustainable volunteer / work placement strategy at FoodCloud Hubs where volunteers and other work placement participants (including TUS) form an integral and effective role in the delivery of FoodCloud Hubs objective to redistribute surplus food from the food industry to the charity sector. Volunteers include individuals, corporates and community groups.

The volunteer coordinator will work closely with the Hub Teams across the three locations, to put in place a network of motivated volunteers principally engaged in supporting the day to day operations of the Hubs.
