BMYI is funded by HSE addiction services, Túsla and Blanchardstown Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force. It is based in a purpose built facility and it aims to engage young people and their families at risk of drug and alcohol use in youth development, education support and family work.
We are now recruiting for the post of Part Time Youth Development Worker
Role Requirements:
Essential Professional Qualifications and Experience – E = Essential, D = Desirable
Hold a 3rd level qualification to degree level in youth work, social studies or related discipline (E)
A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience (E)
Ability to engage target group (E)
Paid or voluntary experience working in youth or community work (D)
An understanding of youth work and community work methodologies (D)
Person Specifications (all essential requirements)
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with young people and families
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to develop strong and effective working relationships
Excellent standard of accuracy and attention to detail
Flexible approach to working as part of a team
Good report writing skills
Ability to follow organisational policy, guidelines and procedures
Good computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media
