Youth Engagement Officer – EPIC – Dublin

EPIC is an independent, not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to advocate for the rights of young people in care or with care experience.

EPIC currently provides a 1:1  advocacy and support service to young people in care and aftercare. EPIC are currently recruiting a Youth Engagement Officer. The purpose of the role is to further develop youth engagement within EPIC, to reach a wider audience of young people in care and with care experience using both traditional and social media, technology and communication channels.

The Youth Engagement Officer will report to the Director of EPIC

Job Purpose

To develop capacity within EPIC to engage and include young people with care experience, using both traditional and social media, technology and communication channels
To reach a wider audience of young people within the care community and those who have left the care system  to gain their views on issues affecting them, provide  an opportunity to have their voices heard and their opinions sought on issues concerning them
To support, develop and lead on the work of the EPIC  Youth Board and other projects and programmes which further the participation within EPIC of young people with care experience

Contract: 2 year fixed term contract with a 6 month probationary period. Based in 7, Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7
