Youth Justice Worker with the EYE Garda Youth Diversion Project, Mullingar.
The position is co-funded by the European Social Fund 2014 – 2020 through the Irish Youth Justice Service, Department of Justice and Equality in conjunction with An Garda Síochána.
The aim of the Garda Youth Diversion Project is to meet the needs of unattached and at risk young people aged 12-18 years who are involved in criminal or anti social behaviour. Its purpose is to engage young people who have offended in a process of learning and development that will enable them to examine their own offending and to make positive lifestyle choices that will protect them from involvement in criminal, harmful or socially unacceptable behaviour.
Working in conjunction with the Project Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will have at least 3 years work experience in a position targeting young people at risk, have a 3rd level qualification in Youth Work or a similar discipline, have a proven track record in group work & facilitation and developing, delivering and evaluating programmes using the logic model. Experience of interagency working and a full driving licence and use of own car is required. Candidates must be computer literate.
