Youth Officer – Mid-WAY Project

Foróige is an independent, non-profit national voluntary youth organisation engaged in out-of-school youth development and education. The organisation aims to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of society. Foróige employs over 370 staff and involves thousands of volunteers in the creation and delivery of high quality services to young people through the operation of over 600 volunteer led clubs, the Big Brother Big Sister mentoring programme and over 150 General Youth Services and Special Projects.

The Mid-WAY Project is a partnership between Foróige, Tusla – Child and Family Agency and the local community and now invite applications for the following position

Youth Officer
The Mid-WAY project is based in Portlaw, Co. Waterford and targets young people in the community, primarily those identified as being vulnerable or at risk young people. The Youth Officer will work a minimum of 35 hours per week and will be based in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.

The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;

Education to Degree standard preferably in Community Development / Applied Social Care etc (note: candidates with a Diploma and with exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications)
Access to car and full Irish driving licence
Minimum 1 year relevant work experience
Paid or voluntary, experience working with young people
