Ozanam House is a community resource centre operated by the Society and located in Dublin’s North Inner City. The centre was opened in September 2002 and since then we have continued to develop various programmes and projects aimed at addressing the issue of social exclusion as well as the many needs of the local community. These include a Childcare service, youth programmes and projects, a suite of adult education programmes and community programmes for the elderly members of the community.

The Youth Worker – Youth Programme Coordinator will implement organisational aims and objectives, continuing to provide a comprehensive and cohesive youth service to children and young people in Ozanam House.

In doing so, they will oversee all aspects of all youth programmes in Ozanam House for children and young people aged from 5 to 18 years of age.
Applicants should possess the following:

A professionally endorsed qualification in Youth & Community work with at least three years of experience of working with young people.

OR

An equivalent professional qualification or relevant degree plus three years of experience of working with young people.

OR

No formal qualification but having worked as a full time youth worker for at least six years.
Experience in coordinating programmes for young people.
Proven organisation and planning skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Proven communication skills and team leading skills.
Experience of working in the community/voluntary sector would be an advantage.
Good communication and administration skills.
Facilitation & group work.
Listening and trust building.
Energised and motivated individual who has an empathy and understanding of our organisation goals.
Written skills – planning, evaluation & reporting.
Resourcefulness & commitment to the role.
Flexibility & empathy towards our service users.
Honest & trustworthy.
