Youth Worker – Programme Development Officer – Society of Saint Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Christian voluntary organisation committed to offering support and friendship, promoting self- sufficiency and working for social justice.

The East Region wish to recruit for the following position:

Youth Worker – Programme Development Officer
(permanent Contract)

To be based in Ozanam House Community Resource Centre, Mountjoy Square West, Dublin 1.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of all youth programmes in Ozanam House for young people aged from 6-18 years of age.

This position is full-time (37.5hrs) & Permanent.
Applicants should possess the following:
A professionally endorsed qualification in Youth & Community work with at least two years’ experience of working with young people in a youth work setting.
OR
An equivalent professional qualification or relevant degree plus two years’ experience of working with young people in a youth work setting.
OR
No formal or relevant qualification in youth work or relevant degree but having worked as a full-time youth worker or in a youth work environment for at least six years
Experience in coordinating programmes for young people
Proven organisation and planning skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Proven communication skills and team leading skills
Experience of working in the community/voluntary sector would be an advantage
