Youth Work Ireland Tipperary is a thriving volunteer led organisation working with our young people aged from 8 to 25 years and a network of locally based youth clubs throughout Tipperary and East Limerick.
We are a youth service which is forward thinking, creative and passionate about exploring opportunities and facing challenges with our young people, and we place them at the centre of everything that we do.
We are currently inviting applications for a project based youth worker, working in our TAR Project, based in Tipperary Town. The TAR project is a Garda Youth Diversion Project. The successful candidate will work with the project team to:
Target young people aged between 12 and 17 years old at risk from being involved in anti-social behaviour and develop responses tailored to their needs
Develop and deliver programmes and supports for intervention through a youth based approach
Work in collaboration local groups, agencies and communities in Tipperary Town
The successful candidate will have a third level qualification in Youth/Community work or a related discipline and experience of practical working with young people. An understanding of Youth Work and skills in challenging behaviour, social inclusion, facilitation, group work, report writing and evaluation will be important and experience in the voluntary sector is an advantage.
