Digital Media & Database Intern / Graduate – The Sanctuary – Dublin

The Sanctuary is a meditation and mindfulness charity based in Dublin 7. We design and deliver a range of courses and programmes in the areas of: meditation and mindfulness; creativity and wellbeing; yoga and movement; and work with young people. We also host a number of conferences, retreats and specialist events throughout the year. Our programme of work has expanded recently and we have put in place a new website to aid and simplify the booking process, and provide an easier customer journey www.sanctuary.ie

We now need assistance with the implementation and analytics of our digital media strategy and management of our databases. You will be joining a team of 20 in our lovely city centre location with gardens. We may be a meditation centre, but the work is varied, fast moving and requires flexibility, adaptability and a problem solving approach. You will work as part of a dedicated promotions and development team and report directly to the Operations Manager.

Expected Duties

Research, compile and maintain databases with great attention to detail.
Implementation and reporting on SEO and analytics
Assist with the implementation of digital media strategies – email marketing (MailChimp), facebook, twitter, text marketing, google and facebook adds, in conjunction with Operations Manager and Development Consultant, and in accordance with Sanctuary Social Media Protocols.
Update the social media channels and website as required under the supervision of the Operations Manager.
Research material for the website and social media channels and contribute ideas to the weekly Marketing Team meetings.
Apply good written skills to drafting quality materials for senior staff input and approval.
Work within a team and support team colleagues.
Engage with colleagues and clients appropriately both online, on telephone and at The Sanctuary itself.
Support other activities of The Sanctuary and its Management / board as required.
Be flexible and willing to work out of hours if required.

Essential Skills

Ability to manage databases, wordpress, SEO, mailchimp, facebook and google analytics a distinct advantage.
Educated to Degree / post graduate Diploma level in Digital Media discipline.
Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
Commitment to detail and precision in all activities including databases and other online applications.
Proven organization and office skills including MS Office packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
An appreciation of mindfulness and its place in technology – or willingness to learn in order to use social media promotion in a non-disruptive manner.
Able to multi task and prioritize effectively.
