Description
Duties will include: Carrying out preventative maintenance/testing of medical equipment in a timely, safe and proficient manner. Responding to breakdown calls and resolving the breakdown in a timely, safe and proficient manner. Documenting all corrective and preventative maintenance using both physical & computer based filing systems. Ordering parts, maintaining a parts inventory and related administration. Receiving, unpacking, assembly and testing of new equipment. Packing, unpacking and arranging delivery of equipment to off-site service providers. Supervising service contractors while on site and coordinating PM�??s and breakdown calls with the contractors. Emergency breakdown planning. Supervising, instructing & monitoring the work of other technical staff in the departmen Liaising with clinical staff as required. Conceiving, planning and implementing technical projects. Skills Requirements
A minimum of degree level qualification in Biomedical/Clinical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. A minimum of three years previous experience in a similar role in a hospital environment is essential. Membership of IPEM/IEI/BEAI desirable.Certified technical training on multiple medical devices is essential. Highly technically competent with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment.
