Due to substantial growth, we are seeking to recruit to the above post. Based in Naas, Co. Kildare but with regular requirement to travel to all locations across the business, the successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team reporting into senior management.
The role of the Internal Auditor will lead on the effectiveness and development of the Auditing function by planning and performing internal audits. You will identify real business risks, take immediate action where necessary and ultimately contribute directly to the success of the business.
Key Duties include:
Leading the development and implementation of the Internal Audit department and its policies and procedures
Design audit programs and execute audits to verify compliance with legislation, regulation, standards and company policies and procedure
Lead audit assignments in accordance with accepted professional standards such as HIQA, HSE, HSA, etc. and draft reports to senior management summarising audit results and solutions to mitigate risks and improve operations
Devising practical and measurable recommendations for identified issues
Preparing and driving the issuance of audit reports in a timely manner
Following up on audit issues
Providing support to management and other stakeholders on queries and assisting with updating control documentation
Make recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed, report on the issues and recommendations and monitor management’s response and implementation
Ensure that audit work-papers are of standard that enable internal audit work to be readily usable and comply with all appropriate professional standards
Lead in streamlining electronic work-papers program to ensure that audit work-papers can be readily extractable and used by Senior Management if necessary
Qualifications:
Ideally, you will be a professionally trained Auditor
Third level degree in Social Studies (or suitable equivalent relevant qualification) or a commitment to undertake one within an agreed timeframe
Experience and Competencies:
You will have an up to date knowledge of internal audit methodology including use of data analytics techniques in conducting audits
Previous experience in leading audits of complex organisations is essential
Balanced career history of which must include strong operational and business acumen experience

Flexible, Responsible and mature approach to work
Professional, accountable, good planning and time management skills
Excellent working knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIQA standards
