Organisation Profile:
Beaumont Hospital Foundation is the official fundraising arm of Beaumont Hospital, one of the Ireland’s busiest acute and emergency medical facilities and home to the National Centre for Neurosciences; the National Kidney Centre and the National Cochlear Implant Programme. The role of the Foundation is to promote and market the medical services this hospital provides to over 420,000 patients annually with the objective of encouraging private donations from former patients, the community and corporate in improving the treatment our staff provide.
Role:
Reporting to and working closely with the Fundraising & Communications Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the development of all fundraising and communications activities carried out by the Foundation in order to generate voluntary donations to the hospital. For the right person this represents a great opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of the non-profit sector, to experience the busy working environment of one of Dublin’s largest hospitals and to work within a small focused team. This opportunity offers the possibility to progress quickly to a position of increased responsibility.
Tasks include:
To assist in the implementation of all fundraising and communications activities.
To work on an existing portfolio of fundraising events, campaigns and projects that will meet and maximise designated targets.
To strengthen Beaumont Hospital Foundation’s presence in all media forums, including both traditional and social media.
To be an active and engaged team member.
DUTIES:
To assist in the development and promotion of all fundraising campaigns as requested.
To assist in the development of marketing communications materials.
Co-ordinate PR and event management for Foundation events
To work with volunteers/hospital staff on joint projects as required.
Undertake general administration duties as required.
To spend some time (when required) dealing with the public at the BHF front desk in hospital reception.
Promote the charity’s aims and objectives at all times.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES REQUIRED:
Education to minimum Leaving Certificate level. Relevant experience gained in either the voluntary or business sector an advantage
Willingness to learn the elements of fundraising, communications and marketing
Ability to work under own initiative, to multi-task on various projects simultaneously and work to strict deadlines.
Excellent written skills – experience of writing for the web and use of social media an advantage
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good inter-personal skills and ability to work well within a team.
Self-motivator, creative, flexible, innovative and enthusiastic.
