Social Care Leaders required for St Joseph’s Boarding for Deaf Boys, Dublin 7.

One permanent position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Care Manager

Implement operational plans as determined by Care Management (Including rosters, fulfillment of Care Plans, Educational Activities
Supervision of Staff, covering all aspects of practice, philosophy of care and career development needs
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures, national legislation, Children First, HIQA / TUSLA and other applicable standards
Assist in investigation and resolution of incidents and complaints
Take a proactive approach to managing and improving Life Skills, Education, Personal Goals for the boarders through the Social Care and Support Staff including Keyworkers.
Ensure that all required Care Plans, Reports, Goal Sheets, correspondence with parents, schools and agencies are professionally prepared and presented
Engage in reflective practice and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure continuous learning and service improvement
Occasional on-call and off shift supports
Audit to quality standards and legislative requirements
Report on such Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as required by Care Manager

Education:

Minimum Level 7 Degree in Social Care, Community Care, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Applied Social Studies or Intellectual Disability Nursing.
Full clean driving license and willing to have indemnity insurance on their vehicle.
Qualification in Irish Sign Language (ISL) desirable and/or willingness to learn ISL.

Experience:

Two years’ experience in boarding / residential care setting
Supervisory experience
Special Education Needs / Disability
Working in partnership with schools, disability organisations, parents and other stakeholders
Strong communications, written and oral
Information and Communication Technology skills
HIQA / TUSLA or equivalent audit experience.
