Campaign and Development Director – Belvedere College

Overview: Belvedere College S.J. is seeking to recruit a Campaign and Development Director to continue a multi-million euro development programme and to establish on-going fund raising.

The Campaign and Development Director will report to the Board of Management and the Headmaster, and will be responsible for implementing an already successful fund-raising plan with parents, past pupils and local businesses. Responsibilities will also include the areas of donor communication, stewardship and alumni relations.

The successful candidate will be well motivated and possess a strong work ethic. He or she must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organisational and multi-tasking ability, and a familiarity with working with organisational leadership. Fund-raising experience is required, and experience of major gifts an advantage. The Campaign and Development Director will be responsible for implementing the current fund-raising plan to ensure the successful completion of the current campaign; for establishing on-going fund raising; and for assisting the College in its alumni relations strategy. Excellent managerial and communication skills are essential, as the Campaign and Development Director will work closely with prospects and donors across three main constituencies (parents, past pupils and local businesses).

The contract will be for an initial period of 2 years.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Working effectively with the leadership of Belvedere College S.J. – the Headmaster, the Rector, the Head of Finance and Administration, the Board of Management – and other volunteers on a full range of campaign and development activities
Leadership of the Campaign and Development department and staff
Implementing the established fund-raising plan
Updating all fund-raising materials, proposals etc.
Recruitment and management of volunteers
Communicating regularly with donors
Ensuring the effective stewardship of donors
Setting and managing the departmental budget
Submitting monthly updates to the Board of Management and Finance Committee
Implementing the long-term alumni engagement plan
