Events and Development Manager – Irish Skin Foundation

The Irish Skin Foundation (ISF) is the national charity supporting people with skin disease; we are unique in representing the interests of people with all kinds of skin disease. The ISF is seeking an Events and Development Manager to assist in the delivery of our mission to improve the quality of life for people with skin disease, and to promote skin health and the prevention of skin disease. The position will be based at the ISF’s offices in the Charles Institute at UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4.

Overall Responsibility
The post-holder (E & D Manager) will be an employee of the ISF, will work with the management team and be responsible for the management of the charity’s annual programme of events and sponsorships programme. Currently these include Barrettstown Family Fun Day, Eczema Expert meetings, HS Community meetings, Dermatology Study Day, Psoriasis Roundtables, advocacy events / briefings, Ploughing Championships, ad hoc conferences and events. The E & D Manager will have responsibility for community engagement, event management, promotion, reporting, sponsorship and exhibitor relations. The post holder will also have significant scope to develop a comprehensive corporate sponsorship approach including related online and social media campaigns and communications.

The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the strategic development, management and implementation of marketing activities in relation to events and sponsorship programme. The programme must be delivered to a high standard, must support patients (or other targeted audiences), align with the objectives of the ISF, must run within budgets and to deadlines. The successful candidate will have worked within a busy marketing environment previously and will be able to demonstrate experience of working on the broad mix of marketing activities, including corporate events and sponsorships. The successful candidate must also be available to work outside of regular office hours and to travel to the charity’s occasional overseas events in order to effectively support the events and sponsorships programme.

The successful candidate should have the following experience and skills:

5+ years’ experience of working in a marketing or events team
primary degree in Marketing or Business related discipline
people management skills
effective team player and networker with the ability to operate autonomously as required
strong project management skills
excellent time management and organisational skills
effective communications skills
strong attention to detail and accuracy
strong work ethic and initiative
experience of working with external agencies
a strong focus on delivering excellent service
work well under pressure and be highly organised
