Research Assistant – University College Dublin

Description

The intern will gain practical experience in: conducting literature reviews; quantitative data analysis; documentary research; use of Eurostat and other relevant comparative databases; preparing research grant applications; preparing journal articles. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: research grant writing skills; managing research projects; report writing; getting published in the Social Sciences; developing professional researcher networks; time management for research. On completion the intern will have attained skills in: conducting literature reviews; quantitative data analysis; documentary research; preparing research grant applications; preparing journal articles.

Skills Requirements

Completion of both quantitative and qualitative research methods training modules. Completion of both qualitative and quantitative data analysis module(s) at advanced undergraduate or postgraduate level. Knowledge of the following computer packages: MS Word, Excel; SPSS.
