About PI:
We are the independent association for all philanthropic organisations and interests engaged with the development of philanthropy and giving in Ireland, see www.philanthropy.ie . Since our foundation we have grown from a small informal network of funders to an expanded base and range of interests committed to the development of a vibrant philanthropic sector in Ireland. Our Mission is to increase the level of philanthropy in Ireland and to expand the community of engaged donors who are regular, strategic, long-term contributors to good causes.
Overall purpose of the Role:
To support the collation and analysis of relevant information and data on philanthropy and giving in the Irish context. Such data will be utilised to inform both the work of the organisation in pursuit of its mission and to inform policy development initiatives as appropriate.
Key responsibilities:
Conduct detailed research on philanthropic giving in Ireland.
Analyse data pertaining to giving in Ireland under key themes.
Conduct research on infrastructural incentives to support giving.
Support the development of policy submissions and research papers in pursuit of giving objectives.
Work collaboratively with the PI team to support the wider work of PI in order to produce and disseminate information and reports as appropriate to support the achievement of outcomes.
Qualifications:
Ideally, applicants should possess a third level qualification in a relevant degree, with a significant research component, in particular data collection and analysis.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years in a relevant or similar role to that outlined in the job specification; working in qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, data analysis, and report writing.
Conditions of Role:
This role will be undertaken on a fixed-term part-time contract for a maximum period of 12 months, funding permitting.
PI is a developing organisation and thus flexibility is required for the position. Responsibilities may be reviewed and amended in line with our developing strategies.
Flexible working conditions can be negotiated.
The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications and allocated pro-rata for hours agreed.
