Midlands Simon Community is supporting people in Laois and the Midlands counties who are experiencing homelessness to leave the instability of homelessness and move to the security of a home of one’s own. Our modern shop in Portlaoise specialising in high end ladies fashion is vital in funding the work of Midlands Simon Community.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a modern and innovative charity shop and in doing so raise the funds that helps to end homelessness in Laois and the Midlands.

SHOP SUPERVISOR

Midlands Simon Community wishes to recruit a Shop Supervisor for its Shop in Portlaoise. This position is suitable for full-time or part-time job share.

The Shop: The Shop primarily will sell quality donated goods with a focus on high-end women’s fashion supported by a volunteer work force.

The Job: The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shop, maximising the surplus for Midlands Simon Community.
The Person

Essential

At least two years experience of managing a retail outlet
Good organisational and people skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Fashion Retail experience
Ability to source, manage and price donated stock
Be flexible in your approach to work
Cash handling experience
Full clean driving licence and access to a car

Desirable

Experience in the Voluntary Sector
Experience in Marketing
Ability to interact with social media
